Marcie Borgal Shunk is President & Founder of The Tilt Institute, specializing in helping firms shepherd significant transformation. Marcie trains and coaches leadership teams and emerging leaders to create dynamic plans, shift mindsets and motivate action. She combines the principles of leading change with deep analytical experience in the business of law to give her clients a comprehensive toolkit to apply to ever-changing challenges and opportunities. Her services include:

  • Engaging leaders – a multi-session program to define and galvanize change and equip leaders with the needed tools to be the catalysts

  • Go-to-market planning – a combination of analytics and facilitation to evaluate market opportunities and kick-off implementation

  • CI road map (audit) – a comprehensive assessment of a firm’s data needs and capabilities, replete with a road map to elevate the firm’s use of data

  • Emerging leaders – specifically tailored for incoming leaders to provide basic understanding of financials, culture, leading change principles and the business of law

  • CI for BD Professionals – an online certification course and/or onsite workshops to give BD and CI professionals the skills needed to leverage data for competitive advantage

Marcie is a frequent speaker on competitive intelligence, client relationship dynamics and the future of law. She is an ALM Legal Intelligence Fellow, an Inductee to the College of Law Practice Management and a regular contributor to publications such as American Lawyer, The Legal Intelligencer and Thomson Reuters’ Legal Executive Institute.

Marcie is a graduate of Harvard University (Go Crimson!). She has certifications in LSSO’s Coaching Advantage, Human Synergistics’ Organizational Culture Effectiveness and Legal Lean Sigma’s Project Management White Belt.

Marcie served on the Legal Marketing Association’s International Board of Directors in 2014-2015 and has been an active member of the group since the early 2000’s.

Prior to founding The Tilt Institute in 2016, Marcie was a Principal at The BTI Consulting Group and a Senior Consultant with LawVision Group.
