J. Johnson Executive Search (JJES), an industry leader in the placement of marketing, business development and public relations candidates into professional services organizations, announced today that Kate Harry has joined the firm as a Recruitment Manager in Chicago, Illinois. Harry was previously a Recruitment Specialist with JJES strategic partner, Seldon Gill Consulting, based in Melbourne, Australia.
At Seldon Gill, Harry’s clients ranged from small to large professional services firms and spanned multiple sectors, including law, accounting, engineering and education. She worked with clients in Australia and Asia and sourced talent from across the globe, including from the UK and US. Prior to focusing her career on search and recruitment, Harry was a lawyer in Melbourne specializing in commercial dispute resolution and litigation at a large, national commercial law firm.
“Kate Harry’s legal background and established reputation as a thought leader makes her a natural fit for JJES,” said Jennifer Johnson, Founder of JJES. “She has a very keen understanding of the organizational dynamics, challenges and importance of cultural nuances within professional services firms, and that kind of knowledge is what sets JJES apart from other search firms. Kate has had great success with our partner Seldon Gill and extensive international experience, and we are pleased to welcome her to our firm,” said Johnson.
Graham Seldon, Founder of Seldon Gill added, “The sign of a good partnership is being able to readily transfer skills between firms. We are delighted that Kate has joined JJES and look forward to even closer ties moving forward, which will benefit both our clients and candidates.”
In addition to the search and recruitment services that Harry provides, she has garnered a reputation in the field for developing thought leadership and generating discussion to assist both the clients and candidates with whom she has worked. She also has a keen interest in volunteering her time and skills, and spent many years assisting the Young Lawyers Section of Law Institute of Victoria in Melbourne, most notably as that organization’s President in 2009. Harry holds Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts degrees from Monash University in Melbourne.
